The Team Review
Good results for the team. Well done in particular to the following riders: James Thompson for a solid 4th overall in the 50cc class, Matthew Kruger for a solid ride in the 85cc juniors with a 3rd overall and ride of the day was Tristan Tredoux’s 1st heat in the Pro Mini class. Tristan led for most of the race and brought home a solid 3rd in the first heat.

James Thompson #35 – 50cc juniors

Tristan Tredoux # 93 – Pro Mini Class

Fernas Baptista of Angola # 25 - MX2 - looks happy to be in front of Sasha Naude…..
Don’t anybody tell him that he was being lapped!

Peter Thompson # 35 – 125 High School, Shane Steenkamp # 64 – 125 High School

The 85cc Junior Class
Matthew was very keen to win on Saturday and had the pace to get it done at Bronco. Things unfortunately don’t always go your way in racing and some mistakes and a bit of bad luck saw Matt settle for a 3rd overall. We realise that riding on average once a week does not necessarily give Matt the best opportunity to get to the top step of the podium. It takes a very talented rider to continuously make it onto the podium week in and week out. School is his priority and as head boy of his prep school, rightly so.

Heat 1: Matthew is making a habit of getting awesome starts and getting out front early. His technique is very good and he is always confident of getting the starts which makes it that much easier. The 1st heat at Bronco was no different and Matthew shot out the gate and into the lead. 1st corner however he slipped out wide and allowed Slade Smith and Ruben Aucamp to get through on the inside. He stayed on the back wheel of Smith and the racing between the three kids was close. Anyone of them was on for the win. Ruben held on well and absorbed all the pressure for an awesome 1st win. Well done Ruben. Matthew came in 2nd and Smith 3rd.

Heat 2 again saw Matthew fly out the gate and into the lead. Halfway down the straight Matt missed a gear, popped it into neutral and lost the advantage. Dalton Venter went down in corner 1 and Matt got tangle up with his back wheel. After losing much time on the leaders Ruben Aucamp and Slade Smith, Mathew chased through the pack from last position and by lap 3 he gained 3rd position. The gap was too much and by the last lap Matt came home in 3rd position. Smith in 2nd and Aucamp in 1st.

Big Airtime!, Matt thanking his sponsors at prize giving
