First and foremost let me say CONGRATULATIONS to CTMX / WPMX
for hosting another superb event. Well done to the club on
the progress made with the rehabilitation efforts and yes,
it will take time, but we will back and support you all the
way. Well done on the wash bay and good to see the 12m container
alongside the old club house. Things are moving in the right
direction !!! The 5mm of rain certainly assisted in arresting
dust – the track was fantastic and with no injuries,
it is apparent that Dean Hoffman designed a very safe, yet
challenging circuit.
First up were the 50cc’s and the Mynhardt boys set the
trend for the day. Lucca earned 2 holeshots and was up front
in the penultimate lap of heat one, when he was bumped and
went down. In heat 2 he came back strong and won the heat.
Five year old Andrea, managed a third place overall in the
junior class – well done boys. 50cc racing is certainly
on its way up again – thanks to CTMX and to Iggie Lambert
(the CTMX junior convenor) for his efforts.

In the 85cc small wheel class, Justin Sangster dominated
once again and won both heats comfortably. The other 85cc
riders are gaining momentum and although Calum Marriott was
just off the podium, he fought very hard and was only a few
seconds off the third place rider. Ethan Hoffman is slowly
gaining confidence and we expect him to mix it with the middle
runners by the end of the year. He is showing great commitment
and put pressure on himself by setting some goals for the
race. We missed Ethan Coleman who was away in JHB for a family
celebration.

85 cc class
In the Pro-mini class, it was a ‘one team’ affair
with Justin Sangster wining both heats, Brett Roberts coming
through in second and Calum Marriott, in third. Brett and
Calum were on form – Team coach Dean Hoffman was thrilled
with their improvement and is expecting big things from the
riders in this class.

In the 125cc class, our blonde bomber – Bo-Dene Scott
gave a FANTASTIC account of herself. She looked very comfortable
on the bike and ran very respectable times. Bo-Dene needs
more time in the saddle, but studies and distance from the
track is always going to be a consideration.
In the MX2 class, Kevin Cassie produced a brilliant performance
and won both heats which has given him a bit of a cushion
from the second place contender. Kevin is riding well and
is such an inspiration to the younger members.

Most of us will be heading up to Terra Topia to challenge
for top honours at Round 1 of the Sunoco super series on 4
April. Bring it home Team Orbis, bring it home !!
